Move More Re-Imagined. Our Falls Prevention Program which enables those who are unsteady or may have fallen to sit less and move more.
Due to COVID-19 The iCareiMove team have been unable to teach to their older communities due to shielding and lockdown but that does not stop them from being inventive and ambitious in reaching their customers throughout Cornwall. The programme had to be re-imagined.
What is Move More Re-Imagined?
Move More is a falls prevention program now on-line. It is evidenced based community physical activity programme that lasts for 25 weeks plus homework, which is designed for the prevention of falls. It is created to reduce falls, re-admissions to hospital and build confidence and well-being. It is now being delivered on-line and it is the technology bit that makes it re-imagined. Thanks to COVID-19 it is impossible to deliver it in the way it is normally run.
We are worried about those being shielded and in isolation, we know that COVID-19 is having an impact on mental health and frailty, we know we can make a difference and reach more peopleHelen Tite
The individual sessions are progressive, which means that over 25 weeks, the movements become more challenging and cover seven components of movement to increase strength and balance;
- Warm up and circulation boost
- Targeted balance
- Targeted endurance
- Targeted strength
- Backward Chaining
- Cool down and Flexibility
- Tai Chi
It’s Magic and that’s what they say

We build relationships and communities within our groups. We understand our people and can really help them make a difference, therefore working together, making us all stronger.Helen Tite – Founder of iCareiMove
You are not alone
This project is run in collaboration with amazing partners. AGE UK Cornwall take calls from you and manage a help desk. They will be your first port of call. iCareiMove work closely with Community Physios and Cornwall Foundation Trust and our NHS. They are helping us with volunteers and this whole project is overlooked and supported by Cornwall Council and Public Health England.
I’m not good at technology!
With the previous success of the Move More program iCareiMove are working hard to help others with their digital skills. AGE UK may have spare devices to loan during your time on the programme. We have been helping our clients to get on line and participate in classes. We run test classes to help with issues with connecting and we have volunteers on hand to make this easier. We are also running live sessions on Chaos TV and pre-recorded sessions to watch at your convenience.
How can we sign up?
We are looking for people who are unsteady on their feet, may have fallen or have lost confidence, they may walk with a stick, frame or aid. Do you work with someone who you think could benefit from the programme?
There is a criteria that we honour, we will talk through your health and will assess you. There will be questions around your physical and mental health. At least give us a call and we can go from there.
Call this number 01872 266383 and the team at AGE UK are ready to talk with you.
Since attending this course he has made a lot of improvements. He is a faller (due to his condition). Now when he falls, I don’t panic. He doesn’t panic either. He pauses and then gets himself up. What a differenceWife of a gentleman attending the course
